Overview
The Royal Trek nestled in the Annapurna region of Nepal, offers a picturesque blend of natural beauty, cultural exploration, and moderate trekking in Nepal. Spanning over approximately 25 miles (40 kilometers), this relatively short trek was named "Royal" after Prince Charles and his entourage trekked this route in the 1980s, hence lending it a royal touch.
Beginning from Pokhara, one of Nepal's most scenic cities, the Royal Trek Itinerary traverses through lush forests, terraced fields, and authentic Gurung and Magar villages. The trail provides stunning views of majestic peaks including Annapurna, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Lamjung Himal. The trek's low altitude ensures a comfortable experience suitable for novice trekkers and families.
The journey typically starts with a scenic drive from Pokhara to the village of Bijayapur, from where the trek begins. As you walk through rhododendron forests and terraced fields, you'll encounter warm hospitality in villages like Kalikasthan, Syaklung, and Chisapani. These villages offer glimpses into the traditional lifestyle of the Gurung and Magar communities, with their distinctive culture, architecture, and cuisine.
Unlike some of the more popular treks in the Annapurna region, the Royal Trek offers a quieter and more serene experience, allowing trekkers to immerse themselves in the tranquility of the Himalayan foothills. The Royal Trek Package concludes at the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara, where you can relax and rejuvenate amidst stunning views of the Annapurna range reflected in the serene waters of Phewa Lake.
The Royal Trek Route is an ideal choice for those seeking a short yet rewarding trekking experience, combining breathtaking mountain scenery with cultural insights and warm hospitality. Whether you're a seasoned trekker or a first-time adventurer, this royal journey through the heart of the Annapurna region promises unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for Nepal's natural and cultural treasures.
